What makes a monster and what makes a man? Inspired by Victor Hugo's 1831 novel, The Hunchback of Notre Dame tells the story of Quasimodo, the hunchbacked bell-ringer of Paris's 15th century Notre Dame, and his desire to one day be a part of the outside world. Held captive by his devious caretaker, the archdeacon Dom Claude Frollo, Quasimodo escapes for a day, only to be treated cruelly by all but the compassionate gypsy, Esmeralda.
Quasimodo isn't the only one captivated by Esmeralda's free spirit, though - Captain Phoebus and Frollo are equally enthralled. As the three vie for her attention, Frollo embarks on a mission to destroy the gypsies. Produced by Ian Anthony Coleman, this show beautifully brings together the complexity of Hugo's novel with a lush, emotionally rich score. Don't miss it!
